Originally a small picturesque fishing village, Turunc has grown over the years to become a popular tourist resort, yet still keeping it`s beauty and idyllic charm. Surrounded by mountains, Turunc is located on a small, rounded pretty bay and is close by to the larger resorts of Icmeler and Marmaris, where holiday makers looking for the busy nightlife vibe can head to.
During the daytime life in Turunc revolves around the pleasant, sand and shingle beach, with it`s crystal clear water, perfect for cooling off in between topping up your tan. Alternatively for those holiday makers looking for things to do rather than relaxing, the local weekly market and a number of shops are scattered about to try your hand at bartering for good cheap souvenirs, as well as many day trips and water sports to keep you occupied. Take a boat trip to the famous Iztuzu Beach, one of the worlds few breeding grounds for the rare Loggerhead Turtles, or visit beautiful reefs to catch sight of dolphins.
