Sitting just a couple of miles west of the Spanish border, the once small fishing village of Monte Gordo is now a popular seafront destination, boasting one of the largest beaches on the Algarve with the warmest land and sea temperatures. Monte Gordo beach is a vast, wide arc of golden sand, dotted with sand dunes, pine woods and beach bars where you can find shade and ice cold drinks. The beachfront promenade is home to a wide choice of restaurants and cafes, serving local and international cuisine to suit all tastes, whilst delicious, fresh fish dishes are very popular in Monte Gordo.
Monte Gordo nightlife consists of a wide choice of discos, bars, pubs and clubs offering a fairly lively atmosphere and the casino is a great night out if you are feeling lucky. Monte Gordo also has a good choice of local bars for quiet evenings over a few drinks as the sun goes down.
