Located on the east coast of Samos, Pythagorion is built on the ruins of the ancient city of Samos and these days it`s one of the main resorts on the island. The Pythagorion holiday season runs from April to October when the temperature can rise from 20° through to the early 30`s.
On each side of the harbour there are 2 small beaches, as well as a long pebble beach at Doryssa and a wide sandy beach at Potokaki which is the most popular with holiday makers. Away from the beaches you will find a wide choice of shops selling souvenirs and good cheap holiday gifts.
Pythagorion holidays involve white washed houses and narrow cobbled lanes leading to the 19th century castle. Around the picturesque harbour are restaurants, cafes and tavernas offering local and international cuisine, as well as freshly caught, succulent fish dishes, whilst the bars and tavernas stay open late into the night, as do the discos.
