Situated in the south-west corner of Kos Island is the charming, picturesque village of Kefalos, with it`s white washed walls and narrow streets. This relaxing hill village is complimented by the busier resort of Kamari below and offers fantastic views of the bay and coastline.
The temperature in Kefalos can vary between 15-21° off season and 26-35° during the summer months, perfect for sunbathing and swimming along the gently, sloping beach. There are a few tavernas and bars in Kefalos to enjoy a lazy drink with the locals, yet just below you in Kamari are plenty of restaurants and bars catering for holiday makers, many with a British feel. This gives you the best of both worlds as you can enjoy the party atmosphere in Kamari Bay, then retreat to the laidback vibe of Kefalos just up the hill. Water sports are available to book from Kefalos and there are some wonderful boat trips to explore the nearby beaches. The restaurants in and around Kefalos offer delicious, local, traditional Greek cuisine as well as international dishes, such as good old British grub or Italian meals.
