Situated in the south-west corner of Kos Island is the charming, picturesque village of Kefalos, with it`s white washed walls and narrow streets. This relaxing hill village is complimented by the busier resort of Kamari below and offers fantastic views of the bay and coastline.
The temperature in Kefalos can vary between 15-21° off season and 26-35° during the summer months, perfect for sunbathing and swimming along the gently, sloping beach. There are a few tavernas and bars in Kefalos to enjoy a lazy drink with the locals, yet just below you in Kamari are plenty of restaurants and bars catering for holiday makers, many with a British feel. This gives you the best of both worlds as you can enjoy the party atmosphere in Kamari Bay, then retreat to the laidback vibe of Kefalos just up the hill.
Water sports are available to book from Kefalos and there are some wonderful boat trips to explore the nearby beaches. The restaurants in and around Kefalos offer delicious, local, traditional Greek cuisine as well as international dishes, such as good old British grub or Italian meals.
Kefalos is approximately 20 minutes from Kos Airport - 17km (10 miles).
The beach down below in Kamari Bay is nice for sunbathing and there are some wonderful beaches around Kefakos with Paradise Beach just 3 miles away and Hawaii Beach and Magic Beach also popular.
Kos Airport is just a 20 minute transfer journey from Kefalos.

Couples can enjoy the relaxed, friendly vibe in Kefalos, yet have all the bars below in Kamari to dip in and out of, as well as some wonderful ancient sites close by.

You can book up to try your hand at jet skiing, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and parasailing whilst on holiday in Kefalos. The crystal, clear water is also excellent for snorkelling.
Kefalos is home to the ruins of the 'Castle of the Knights', where according to legend, Hippocrates` daughter was transformed into a dragon, banished to live in this castle and is still waiting for a knight to kiss her back to humanity.
