Ierapetra can be found directly below Agios Nikolaos on the south coast of Crete, combining a traditional Greek resort with a tourist holiday. The temperature in Ierapetra can range from 14-21° out of season and 25-30°, excellent for sunbathing and swimming.
Ierapetra can boast to be the southern most tip in Europe and, due to it`s position facing Africa, benefits from beautiful weather and warm air. The Old Town, known as Kato Mera, is a mixture of narrow lanes and wonderful architecture, lovely to stroll around in the evening.
To the eastern side of Ierapetra there are miles of beaches to choose from, safe for swimming, with many being awarded the Blue Flag for their cleanliness and offering a great range of water sports. The harbour, Venetian castle and promenade have a good selection of waterside tavernas, bars and restaurants serving local and international cuisine.
