Looking across the stunning River Nile, Luxor stands on the east bank and is the perfect resort for historical sites and monuments, as well as tombs and ancient temples. These days luxury hotels line the banks of this once ancient city of Thebes, often described as one of the greatest ancient sightseeing areas in the world.
With the summer months in Luxor reaching temperatures in the thirties and forties, the most popular time of year to visit is between October and March where you will find the temperature in the mid to late 20`s, making it much more enjoyable for sightseeing. Most of the nightlife is based in the hotels, with a range of evening entertainment and live shows, including belly dancing and traditional music. The local nightlife revolves around the Luxor Bazaar for souvenirs and bars.
There is a good range of local and international cuisine, such as falafel balls in pitta bread to European and Far Eastern delights.

Luxor is a lively city offering you incredible ancient sites and places of interest to visit. The Temple of Luxor, with its vast colonnades and colossal statutes is situated in the centre of the modern city, overlooking the Nile. Another very popular attraction in Luxor is the Mummification Museum, whilst the Temple of Karnak is one of the largest ancient religious sites in the world. The columns, the altars and shrines, and the avenues of ram-headed sphynxes are awe-inspiring and stand as a lasting tribute to the work of the craftsmen thousands of years ago.
Across the Nile on the west bank lies the famous Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, a huge necropalis that houses amongst others the famous tomb of Tutankhamun.
