The largest coastal resort in Cyprus is the resort of Limassol, also known as Lemesos, boasting a wonderful marina, great activities and plenty of beaches. The Limassol weather can reach the low 20`s out of season and up to the mid 30`s during the summer months.
The main beach in Limassol is called Dassoudi, where you can try your hand at a number of water sports and around this area there are many bars, nightclubs, discos and restaurants, with a lively atmosphere in the evening. Fish dishes are very popular in Cyprus and Limassol has some excellent restaurants, serving succulent fish dishes and local cuisine, as well as fast food outlets and international restaurants offering menus from around the world, including good old British grub.
In the old side of town you can find some great cheap holiday souvenirs, like leather wares, pottery, ceramics and lace, while the supermarkets provide all of the usual holiday essentials.
