Cyprus holidays
The island of Cyprus lies at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea, below Turkey which occupies the northern end of the island. Cyprus holidays should involve plenty of sight seeing as there are many beautiful ancient ruins, medieval castles, museums and churches. The 2nd century BC theatre at Kourion has been fully restored, whilst the spectacular Tombs of the Kings and Kolossi Castle are well worth a visit.
Out of season the temperatures on a Cyprus holiday can reach 20°, whilst in the summer months into the 30`s, perfect for sunbathing on one of the many gorgeous sandy beaches and cooling off in the crystal clear sea.
Whether you are looking for a quiet relaxing Cyprus holiday or a vibrant resort with a crazy party nightlife this is the island that has it all. Flamingo Bay and Fig Tree Bay are very popular golden sand beaches, whilst Ayia Napa is filled with nightclubs, discos and outdoor venues, offering a party scene that never slows down. Limassol is also a buzzing vibrant resort, though not quite like Ayia Napa.
Paphos and Larnaca offer great cheap holidays and are popular with families, couples and groups alike due to the wonderful beaches, great bars and restaurants and activities, such as theme parks and water parks, filled with exciting chutes, slides and pools.
The Turkish occupied, northern Cyprus boasts some lovely resorts like Famagusta and Kyrenia, whilst the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia is divided by the `Green Line` of the two countries making it the only divided capital in Europe.
