Located one mile to the south of the amazing cliffs of Los Gigantes, above Playa De Las Americas on the west coast of Tenerife, Playa De La Arena is a peaceful resort with a good selection of local restaurants and bars. The natural black sand beach has won awards for cleanliness and has tavernas, bars and restaurants selling traditional and international cuisine alongside it.
There are a number of shops in Playa De La Arena as well as the Wednesday market, selling local produce, at Playa San Juan and the Monday market at Alcala for African crafts. For those looking for activities, rather than relaxing on the beach, you can take boat trips out to sea, a day trip to the lovely resort of Masca or even a trip to Mount Tiede.
Playa De La Arena, Puerto Santiago and Los Gigantes are so close together that they have almost amalgamated into one, meaning it is easy to benefit from the facilities that each of them offer.

Fantastic Restaurants

The local cuisine in Playa De La Arena is exquisite with tapas dishes, the famed octopus salad and papas arrugadas which are Canarian potatoes cooked in their skins. Mojo, a chilli and garlic sauce, is popular with locally caught grilled fresh fish.
