There is no direct access to a beach in Puerto Calero as this wonderful purpose-built resort is based around a truly magnificent marina, built in the late 80`s. Don`t let this put you off though as the beautiful sand Papagayo beaches are located just along the coast and Puerto Carmen is only two miles away with spectacular, long stretches of sandy beaches.
The all year round popular resort of Puerto Calero can expect temperatures in the winter to range from 22°-24° and 26°-30° during the summer months. The marina, with it`s expensive yachts, is great for strolling around to take in the luxurious feel to the area, and there are many cafes and restaurants, offering anything from international dishes to exquisite local cuisine such as paella, fresh fish drizzled in a `mojo` sauce, olives and potato omelettes, to name a few.
There are a few shops and boutiques dotted around the marina, whilst the nightlife in Puerto Calero revolves around the restaurants and cafes, but with Puerto Del Carmen nearby means you have loads of bars, nightclubs and live music venues on your doorstep.
