The up and coming resort of El Cotillo lies on the north west coast of Fuerteventura with the main attraction being the fantastic beaches, although some tend to have a strong undercurrent. Just to the north of El Cotillo the offshore reefs have created a barrier against the waves, resulting in quiet lagoons with sandy beaches. Around this area you will find shoals of pretty fish, making it great for snorkelling or diving.
The temperature can vary from 18°-22° in the winter months, to 21°-30° during the summer season in this small fishing resort. There are a number of shops, bars and restaurants, where you can find international cuisine to suit all tastes and wonderful local dishes, including fresh fish drizzled in `mojo` and Canarian foods such as paella.
