On the northern coast of Fuerteventura you will find Corralejo, the island`s largest resort, that manages to keep part of the traditional feel of this once Canarian fishing village. The original square and the main street both attract holiday makers looking for souvenirs, beachwear and bargains. The temperature can range from 18°-22° in the winter and 22°-28° in the summer.
Corralejo attracts ferries from Playa Blanca in Lanzarote, carrying day-trippers drawn to this major resort and beautiful coastline. The wonderful long beach, called the Playa Grande, has golden sand and gentle breezes, while the restaurants can cater for every taste, from fish and chips to pizza, to exquisite local dishes, there is something for everyone.
In the centre of Corralejo you will find several good bars, as well as nightclubs and discos for those holiday makers wanting to continue after the bars close. But the huge attraction to Corralejo is the protected nature reserve and beaches to the south of the resort, on the eastern coast, that seem endless with huge sand dunes.
