The third largest city, Varna, sits to the north of Bulgaria on the coast of the Black Sea, around a crescent shaped bay with several kilometres of golden sandy beaches, boasting the Blue Flag award. The Varna holiday season runs from April to October when the temperature can reach the late 20`s at the height of summer.
Filled with ancient ruins, museums, churches, thermal springs and Roman baths, Varna is an interesting city to spend your holiday. Folklore festivals are popular in Varna when you can listen to the traditional music and admire the brightly coloured costumes.
