Located at the entrance to Mahon harbour, Es Castell is a relaxed friendly resort, popular with holiday makers looking for a peaceful base, yet close to the hustle and bustle of the capital. The Es Castell weather can range between 13-21° out of season and up to 31° during the summer months, perfect for sunbathing on the nearby beaches, Es Grau to the north, Punta Prima to the south and nearby Cala Padera.
Around the centre and the port you will find a good choice of restaurants offering everything from local Spanish cuisine and fresh fish dishes, to international foods and good old British grub.
Around the harbour in Es Castell there are plenty of lively bars, although it is not classed as a lively resort, so if you want to party late into the night then head into Mahon itself. Both Es Castell and Mahon have plenty of good shops and boutiques and twice a week there is a market held in the square in Es Castell.
